Our goals of achievement in compliance with OSHA statutory regulations, relating to employee health and safety, are met through cooperation and participation.
Astaldi employees are actively encouraged to participate in the HSE program and are empowered to take action in preventing accidents and injuries. Our employees and are a critical part of the team approach to safety.
It is worth noting that Astaldi Construction Corporation has received the “ABC Gold Step Safety Award” from the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. for 11 consecutive years. The Step Award is in recognition of Astaldi’s experience and skill in adherence of its Safety rules and results obtained in the development and implementation of its Safety Program.
In addition, Astaldi has received the Federal Transportation Builders Association (FTBA) Outstanding Safety Awards for the past six consecutive years, for superior achievement and outstanding safety record. The Astaldi Group’s occupational health and safety management system is certified according to OSHAS 18001:2007 standards.
Astaldi Construction Corporation is committed to meet or exceed all of the environmental requirements on our projects. Our team has successfully designed/constructed projects within Florida, most of which involved working over canals, around wetlands and within environmentally sensitive areas.
All of our field supervisors are National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) certified inspectors and have extensive construction experience involving sensitive wetlands and protected species.
Our commitment to environmental compliance is further evidenced by our current backlog of projects scoring a perfect 12 of 12 on the Contractors Past Performance Rating (CPPR) under Category 7 for Environmental Compliance. Our team is very familiar working with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Miami-Dade County Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) as well as with many other environmental agencies. The ASTALDI Group’s environmental management system is certified according to ISO 14001:2004 standards.
FTBA Safety Award
For the Sixth consecutive year (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016) ASTALDI Construction Corporation was awarded the Florida Transportation Builder's Association (FTBA) Award of Safety Achievement for their Outstanding Safety Record.
FTBA Safety Award illustrates ASTALDI’s constant commitment to providing its employees with a safe and healthy work environment and ASTALDI’s efforts on the continuous training of its own employees as well as its subcontractors in a variety of workplace safety topics.
ABC STEP Safety Award
Astaldi Construction Corporation received the 2016 STEP Safety Award for its continuing efforts in developing and implementing a successfull safety environment. ASTALDI has continuously received the STEP Safety Award for 11 consecutive years.
Established in 1989 by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee, the Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program was developed and written by contractors, for contractors. There is no charge for this service (unless you are applying for STEP Platinum), and your responses are strictly confidential.
